ARUSHA is an lovely town located on the slopes of Mt.Meru in the northern part of Tanzania, East Africa. (Less than an hour from Kilimanjaro International airport by car.)
The Residency Studio/Accomadations are located near the city center in a tranquil garden. Adjacent to the studio is the Arusha Masai Cafe.

We work as an open residency and can accommodate many art forms.

When: All year round.
Average length of residencies: 2, 4, or 6 weeks, or up to the artist.
Accommodations: Housing for up to 10 people. There are
four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, a big garden with tables and a sauna.


Working facilities:
Fully equipped handmade paper workshop with hollander beater. Two big shades for any type of work.

You will stay in the guesthouse which is located next to downtown Arusha. The house has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a large garden with a small restaurant in front (Arusha Masai Cafe), outside bar and wood heated pizza oven. The gallery space is located in the guesthouse. Its a western style house with flush toilets and electricity (240v). There is limited hot water for showers. A computer with internet is available though service can be spotty. A second guesthouse, located off-site, has an additional two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Behind the house are the work-areas, and whole area is gated and secured at night.
We have an on-site staff that will cook, clean and take care of the grounds. We also have a Masai guard during the evenings/nights, and a watchdog.
You'll stay under a mosquito net that's provided. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily and the staff will wash your clothes for a nominal fee, or you can wash your own clothes.
You'll want to bring your own toiletries, medicines, music and reading material. Visitors should bring money for bottled water, dining out, excursions and entertainment.


Located in historic Kondoa, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, just up the hill from the Mnenia Village, the Amarula Tent Camp is set within the acacia and amarula trees. The camp overlooks the Masai Steppe, with ancient Rock Art in the surrounding areas.
Amarula Camp has three safari tents which sleep two guests each. The tents are comfortably laid out, each with its own individual deck. The tents are furnished with two single beds (linen/sleeping bags and pillows provided) and a cupboard to store your flashlight, bird book and binoculars. Showers are located behind each tent.The central dining pavilion can accommodate several visitors at two large picnic table and there is a kitchen to provide meals with a gas stove and fridge included. Composting toilets and shower rooms are available on site.
